About the Artists

An exclusive invitation awaits members to explore the world of Joanna Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige, the acclaimed Beirut-born filmmaker and artist duo who won the prestigious Marcel Duchamp Prize for their groundbreaking installation "Unconformities" (2017). Renowned for blurring the lines between contemporary art and cinema, their multidisciplinary practice spans photography, sculpture, performance, and multi-award-winning feature films, such as “Memory Box” (2021) and “The Lebanese Rocket Society” (2011), celebrated at major festivals from Cannes to the Berlinale.

Deeply rooted in Beirut’s artistic community as co-founders of Abbout Productions and Metropolis Art Cinema, their work is defined by long-term research into political and personal archives, uncovering the poetic traces of what is absent or hidden - from forgotten 1960s space projects to geological urban sediments and the latent memories of war.

This private encounter offers members an exceptional opportunity to step into the artists’ active working environment to explore how they fabricate images and rewrite history. With major pieces held in world-class institutional collections, including the Centre Pompidou, Tate Modern, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, this visit offers an unmissable look into the minds of two of the most influential figures shaping the global contemporary art landscape.
