NYUAD ART GALLERY “ALL MANNER OF EXPERIMENTS: Legacies of the Baghdad Modern Art Group”

The exhibition explores the legacy of the Baghdad Modern Art Group, founded in 1951 by Jewad Selim and Shakir Hassan Al Said. Featuring works by the group's members and the artists they inspired, the exhibition shows how Iraqi artists blended their rich Mesopotamian heritage with the ideas of modern art to create a unique artistic identity. Their groundbreaking work continues to inspire artists in Iraq and around the world today.
