ABOUT THE EVENT

We are delighted to invite you to a presentation of the Botin Foundation Santander  (Spain) by its executive director, Fatima Senchez Santiago, and a virtual tour of the Picasso Ibero exhibition at the Botin Center led by Manuel Diego Sanchez, Coordinator of the Art & Creativity development area.

Produced in collaboration with the Musée National Picasso-Paris, it is the first exhibition of this importance that reflects the influence of Iberian art on Picasso's work, all through a selection of masterpieces from different museums and the great contributions from the Picasso family.

The Botín Foundation was created in 1964 by Marcelino Botín Sanz de Sautuola and his wife, Carmen Yllera, to promote the social development of Cantabria. Today it maintains its focus on Cantabria and operates throughout Spain and Latin America, contributing to the integral development of society by exploring new ways of detecting creative talent, betting on it to generate wealth. The Foundation develops programs in the fields of art and culture, education, science and rural development, supports social institutions and has a Trends Observatory to deepen the knowledge of society. Its main headquarters are in Santander, and since 2012 it has had a headquarters in Madrid. The most important project of the Foundation is the Botín Center. Inaugurated in June 2017 in Santander, designed by the architect and Pritzker winner Renzo Piano.
