ABOUT THE EVENT

We are delighted to invite you to a morning in Dubai on Thursday 19th of May.

10,00am: Hotel Indigo Downtown Dubai permanent art collection and “Couture Divas” Azaidé’s exhibition on display

Astrid Lesuisse, art manager at the Hotel Indigo will take us on an inspiring tour of its permanent art collection and a visit of Azaidé’s exhibition followed by a casual roundtable in the presence of the artist.

After a notable fine arts experience curating numerous exhibitions in Vancoover, Astrid

moved to Dubai and has created a vibrant and supportive platform where artists can thrive and contribute to the growth of the art scene in the city.

“Couture Divas” is a project that champions women’s emancipation and liberation through a unique blend of retro-pop-art-revolutionary. Inspired by diversity of cultures, the artist Azaïdé depicts independent and strong women in diverse settings, highlighting various patterns’ heritage, fusing vintage and modern codes into authentic traditional wear.

Born in Paris from French, Algerian and Spanish origins, Azaïdé was raised in Madagascar where she cultivated her love for art. She later worked in China as a fashion designer before moving to Dubai in 2015. Her love for colours and patterns from all cultures quickly led her onto the path of photography combined with her two passions for fashion and pop culture.
