10.am: Private visit of Generascope - Hexagon.

A collection of 1111 uniquely generated artworks from 11 hand drawn seed images by Jason Seife.

The inspiration for Seife’s work is based around the notion that we can reinvent the past using modern day materials and compositions, allowing the excellence of an old craft to be admired by a younger generation. Seife was inspired by both his own Middle Eastern heritage and the complex artistic practice of Persian rug as well as multidisciplinary artists such as Daniel Arsham, Jose Parla, Takashi Murakami, and Kanye West.

11.am: Guided tour of Sculpture Park

For the 14th edition of the fair, Art Dubai curated a Sculpture Park featuring large-scale installations along the two water paths that surround the iconic DIFC gate. The sculpture park featured 10 artists including: Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim, Rachid Koraïchi, Rashed Al Shashai, Goncalo Mabunda, Hussain Sharif, Dia Al-Azzawi, Costas Varotsos, Tarik Currimbhoy, Bernar Venet and Pablo Reinoso.

12.15pm: Visit of the Samawi Private Collection

The hospitable Mrs Samawi will be presenting their family’s  private collection featuring diverse famous artists at home. Finger food and drinks will be served. 

It is one of the region’s most significant collections of international art, demonstrating the ways in which the Middle East has increasingly obtained global leverage with a broadening scope of patronage featuring several periods of Arab Art.
