A short presentation about Calligraphy and its integration in modern art by the gallery art director Hanaa Bouhamdan, followed by an interactive discussion with the renowned artist Babak Rashvand , and an introduction to many other calligraphy artists around their works.
Babak Rashvand, born in 1980, successfully got his M.A. degree in Visual Communication from Tehran University, faculty of fine arts as a top student.His professional life in calligraphy painting started very early on when he was only 7 years old . He was among the top-ranking students in both bachelor and master course entrance examinations.
He entered the world of letters, concentrated on abstract calligraphy or calligraphy painting, which is known ‘Naqashikhat’ in Iran stressing the implied visual power that exists in the structure, shapes, and calligraphy as a unifying visual element in his piece of art.

British-Iranian art collector Mohammed Afkhami, vice chairman of the real estate investment firm London Strategic Land, and founder and managing partner of both the Dubai-based commodities firm MA Partners DMCC, and Magenta Capital Services, advisers in capital placement.
His collection spans 600 works and 450 works are from Iran or Iranian artists around the world. The underlying theme is a focus on modern and contemporary Iranian art, creating a chronological archive of works from the late 1950s until present day.
