Invisible hands, blue clothes, blue skies, blue shadows. Dubai landscape is made of these: people we see passing in front of us.

Sofia BASTO-RIOUSSE​

Colombian-French self-taught artist, based in Dubai since 2015. Former Lawyer, fed up with codes and paperwork, more into nature contemplation and social dynamics observation. Her art path started back in Colombia with big-format mural paintings.

After a long break ( well!, She never really stopped drawing and writing)  She decided to move her brushes again, watercolors and acrylics mainly. Embrodery and decoupage can be found in her collages and paintings, always accompanied by a botanical touch, wich remids of the mountains and jungle she grew up sourrounded by.

 

فنانة كولومبية فرنسية تعلمت الفن بنفسها، جابت أصقاع الأرض لتستقر في دبي منذ عام 2015. مارست مهنة المحاماة ولكنها سئمت الرموز والأوراق، فانصرفت إلى تأمل الطبيعة ومراقبة الديناميكياتالاجتماعية. بدأ مسارها الفني في كولومبيا بلوحات جدارية كبيرة الحجم واستكشاف للخط.

 

بعد استراحة طويلة (في الحقيقة، لم تتوقف يوما عن الرسم والكتابة)، قررت تحريك فرشتها مرة أخرى، ولكن هذه المرة باستخدام وسائط مختلفة وألوان مائية والأكريليك. يمكن العثور على مزيج من الوسائط مثلالمنسوجات والتطريز و فن القطع في ملصقاتها ولوحاتها، مصحوبة دائمًا بلمسة نباتية تذكر بأعماق الجبال والغابات التي ترعرعت فيها.
